Where is Forsyth Aviation located?
We are based at Montgomery County Airpark (GAI) 20NM North of Reagan National (KDCA) in Washington, DC.
I found your name listed on the EAA web site. Do you teach in Experimental Aircraft?
Yes I can instruct in customers Experimental Aircraft. Please look at http://www.eaa.org for a wealth of information on the Sport Pilot Certificate.
What do I need to bring on my first flight?
-Birth Certificate or Unexpired U.S. Passport (Required by TSA before I can give primary training)
-Driver’s License
-Check or cash for payment
-Flight Training Material that you may have (Give me a call and we will discuss in more detail)
What if I can not provide the above since I am not a U.S. Citizen?

Several self study and online options are available.
I recommend purchasing the Gleim Complete Sport Pilot Kit (Test Prep CD-Rom, Online Ground School, and Test Prep for Pocket PC) for $199.95. http://www.gleim.com/aviation/products.php?cat=SP
This will give you nearly everything you need and will allow you to complete the requirements to take the Knowledge (written) test for only $50 more than the basic kit. I have kits available for purchase.
ASA products are used for Private and Instrument Training. In addition to the Student Pilot Kits, I highly recommend ASA's Virtual Test Prep Aviation Ground School DVDs. Rod Machado publishes an Excellent Private Pilot manual also. I typically have all recommended material available for purchase.
Jeppesen publishes excellent manuals.
Although I have no personal experience with the King material for Sport Pilot, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) had this to say:
“Question: WHAT IS THE BEST BOOK TO STUDY FOR SPORT PILOT EXAM?
Answer: When studying for the sport pilot knowledge test the EAA recommends the KING Schools sport pilot knowledge test course. When studying for the practical test the EAA recommends the KING Schools practical test prep course.
